25 for 25 Grants Minimize

Congratulations to the following organizations that were selected to receive one of the Foundation's "25 for 25" grants as part of the 25th Anniversary Celebration.  The following 25 organizations received a $1,000 grant.



Access DuPage
To provide 62 months of medication access for low-income residents of DuPage County.

Carelink Foundation
To purchase toys geared toward autistic children and pay for caretakers to babysit the children during the Autism Support Group programs.

CASA of DuPage County, Inc.
To recruit and train volunteers who serve as the voice and advocates of the abused, neglected, and dependent children in DuPage County's juvenile and family court.

Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center

To provide psychological testing and counseling services for low-income individuals.

DuPage P.A.D.S., Inc.
To help with client transportation expenses for doctor's appointments, jobs and their children's activities.

DuPage Senior Citizens Council
To provide 200 hot meals to frail and homebound seniors through the Meals on Wheels program.

Elmhurst Art Museum
To enable 25 high school seniors to participate in the Portfolio exhibition's ancillary education programs.

Elmhurst YMCA
To purchase 3 new laptops to help children in the Y's after school program complete their homework.

Fair Lady Productions, Inc. - Kidz Kabaret Children's Theater
To provide under-privileged children in the community an opportunity to participate in their children's theater program.

Family Shelter Service
To provide one year of meals for children attending the Mom & Kids counseling group for victims of domestic violence.

Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center
For their After-School Literacy and Life-Skills program which helps low-income, refugee and immigrant children acquire skills in academics and social interaction.

Green Earth Institute

To establish a scholarship program for low-income DuPage County children to participate in their Nature Rangers summer camps.

Hamdard Center for Health and Human Services
To purchase and prepare 10 "My New Home" care packages for domestic abuse victims starting new households.

HCS Family Services
To underwrite the cost of one mobile food pantry at Willowbrook Corner, a low-income apartment community in Southeast DuPage.

Literacy DuPage
To provide a training workshop for 20 new volunteer tutors who will work with 25 to 30 adult learners in the next year.

Little Friends, Inc.
For augmentative and assistive communication devices for teachers and students to improve learning for their autistic students.

Lombard Historical Society
To fund the design and production of an "Underground Railroad Sites in DuPage County" guidebook that would be offered for sale in various historic sites and gift shops in DuPage.

Outreach Community Ministries
To help cover the cost of a springtime tour of possible colleges for low-income students in the College Preparatory Program.

Senior Home Sharing, Inc.
To support their affordable housing program enabling low-income seniors to retain as much of their independence as possible and enjoy living in a community setting.

Senior Suburban Orchestra
To subsidize the cost of providing Music on Wheels performances to groups that lack the physical mobility or financial resources to attend traditional public programs.

Teen Parent Connection

To purchase 75 packages of diapers, formula and baby food for their Parents' Pantry which is offered to adolescent parents participating in their programs.

The Community House
To subsidize the outreach services to high school students at Willowbrook Corner.

The Conservation Foundation
To assemble discovery boxes for school and park districts to facilitate children's learning about different aspects of their environment.

We Grow Dreams

To develop a training manual to align with a Picture Exchange Communication System used by many team members who are disabled.

YWCA of Metropolitan Chicago, West Suburban Center

To provide for one violence prevention educator to travel to and from a school from a school for three days a week for 39 weeks per school year.
