About UsFrequently Asked Questions     May 17, 2012
Frequently Asked Questions Minimize

1.  Where are you located?

The Foundation is located at The Wheaton Professional Center, 104 E. Roosevelt Rd., Suite 204, just south of downtown Wheaton at the southeast corner of Roosevelt and Main.

2.  How late are you open?

Our office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Grant proposals must be received in our office no later than 5:00 p.m. on the deadline dates.  We cannot consider proposals received after that time.

3.  Can I apply for a scholarship?

Although the Foundation works with individuals and groups that wish to make scholarship funds available, we do not make direct scholarship grants.  Information on the scholarships we are associated with is distributed to guidance offices of the eligible schools after the first of each year.  Check with your high school guidance office for more information.

4.  I am in need of financial assistance.  Can you help me?

Unfortunately, The DuPage Community Foundation does not make grants directly to individuals.

5.  Our company is looking to expand - can we get help from The DuPage Community Foundation?

The DuPage Community Foundation only makes grants to not-for-profit organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) exempt status.  We do not make grants to for-profit businesses or individuals.

6.  Our charitable organization is located in another county - can we apply for a grant?

The DuPage Community Foundation's vision and mission are centered around improving life in DuPage County.  To this end, grants made by the Foundation are specifically targeted to organizations which supply goods and/or services to people in DuPage County.  While we realize that many very worthy regional, state and national organizations do concentrate some of their efforts in the DuPage area, our specific focus is on DuPage County and organizations outside that area must show an overall commitment to DuPage County in their focus for us to consider them for a grant.
